Owl is designed with an offline-first, privacy-by-default architecture. All session audio recordings, transcriptions, summaries, SOAP notes, lists, and checklists are processed and stored locally on your Android mobile device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your therapy sessions or client documentation on our servers.
Your recordings and generated records are stored exclusively within the app's private sandbox storage on your Android mobile device. Because no client records are uploaded to the cloud or third-party servers, there is zero risk of cloud-based data breaches. You retain sole physical custody of all data.
We do not access, view, or use your audio recordings or session transcripts. Any AI processing required to compile summaries, SOAP notes, and treatment recommendations is run securely with client-side API requests, with zero retention on external servers. We do not sell or monetize your data.
All data retention is controlled entirely by you. You can review, edit, and delete transcripts, summaries, checklist tasks, and notes directly inside the application at any time.
Since we do not store any of your data on our servers, we cannot delete your files for you. You can permanently erase all session records at any time by deleting them inside the app or by uninstalling the Owl application from your device.
You have the absolute right to control, export, and delete your clinical records. Owl is built as a tool to facilitate your work, leaving you in full custody of all client records in compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other mental health confidentiality requirements.
